The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines, together with the Department of Health, conducted a Technical Working Group meeting to operationalize “Task Force Universal Health Care” with participants from DOH – Bureau of Local Health Systems Development, DOH – Health Human Resource Development Bureau, DOH – Health Facilities Development Bureau, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, National Implementation Team, DILG – Bureau of Local Government Development, DILG – Bureau of Local Government Supervision, Department of Budget and Management, National Anti-Poverty Commission, and Zuellig Family Foundation last March 23, 2015 at 8th Floor, DILG, NAPOLCOM Building, Quezon City.
The meeting spearheaded the creation of Task Force Universal Health Care (UHC) that would address health gaps in the achievement of UHC. The Task Force is projected to be a platform for regular communication between DOH, its attached agencies and the local governments, aimed to give inputs to each other’s programs and policy work, and involve other National Government Agencies and non-government organizations to assist in achieving the Task Force’s goals.
