Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines President Gov. Alfonso V. Umali Jr. and League of Municipalities of the Philippines National President Mayor Leonardo Javier represent local governments in the inter-agency and multi-stakeholder discussion on resources and capacity-building interventions for the localities affected by Typhoon Yolanda, March 4 at Development Academy of the Philippines.
The conversation is hosted by Sec. Ping Lacson as Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery and Sec. Butch Abad of Department of Budget and Management. Cabinet Secretaries Dinky Soliman of Department of Social Welfare and Development, Rene Almendras of Office ofthe Cabinet Secretary, Rogelio Singson of Department of Public Works and Highways, and among other national government agency representatives are present. Development partners from international organizations, local private and civil society groups were also present to give their commitments to provide planning and technical capacity support to local governments for rehabilitation.
