ULAP spearheaded 162 to 52 Coalition Strategic Workshop
The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines spearheaded the 162 to 52 Coalition Lead Conveners' Strategic Workshop Meeting held on April 21, 2015, at DILG Napolcom Building, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
Present during the meeting were the other conveners which include: DOH-BLHSD, Zuellig Family Foundation, Philhealth, Access Health International Philippines, Microsoft Philippines and Philippine Council for Health Research Development. ULAP acts as the Chair and Lead Convener of the coalition along with ZFF as its Co-chair.
The primary agenda discussed in the meeting were the inputs of the coalition conveners to the result of the Task Force Universal Health Care workshop. The Task Force UHC was primarily convened by DOH, ULAP, Philhealth,DILG and other health organizations/agencies, with its first TWG meeting conducted last March 23, 2015.
RFPA Consultation Meeting in Batangas held, Apr.20,2015
The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), together with its partners, AustralianAID, The Asia Foundation, Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF), held a project consultation meeting in Batangas province on April 20, 2015 for the project "LGU-DENR partnership in the implementation of the Residential Free Patent Act (RA10023). Present during the meeting were Provincial Administrator Joel Montealto, Belinda Celemin (PPDO), Luis Awitan (ENRO), and Loue Marasigan (PAO).
The consultation meeting aims to create a partnership between the DENR of Batangas and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Batangas by creating a desk office in the provincial government to help facilitate requirements needed to qualify for the Residential Free Patent Act. The partnership will not only expedite the land titling process but will also help increase the number of titles issued to residential public lands.
ULAP conducted a series of project consultations in Region 10
The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), together with its partners, AustralianAID, The Asia Foundation, Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF), conducted a series of project consultation meeting in the provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, and Lanao Del Norte on April 13-17, 2015 for the project "LGU-DENR partnership in the implementation of the Residential Free Patent Act (RA10023).
Present during the meeting in Bukidnon were Governor Juan Zubiri Jr., Portia Tulang (DENR-PENRO), Nelson Llesis (Provincial Assessor), Gesriel Mangabat (PPDC).
Likewise also present during the meeting in Camiguin were Governor Romualdo, Rey Balbutin (DENR-PENRO), Regino Loquellano (PEO), Manuelito Pacudasan (PEO), Mark Sabuero (PPDO), Alex Victoria (PPDO), Basolcol Amadia (RASO).
Also present in Lanao Del Norte were Rogelio Aguaviva (Provincial Assessor), Alicia Gementizu (DENR-PENRO), Janoding Abdulsalam (LLSO), Jeolito Dumasig (PPDO), Ramin Senapo (ENRO) and Hon. Tawantawan Caantangan (Board Member).

ULAP & Agusan Del Sur PLGU conduct multistakeholders’ orientation
The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), together with its partner Atikha Inc., and the Provincial Government of Agusan Del Sur, conducted a Multistakeholders’ Orientation in the Agusan Del Sur’s Provincial Capitol Training Center on April 10 for the project “Scaling Up Initiatives in Mobilizing Migrant Resources towards Agricultural Development.” Representatives from the provincial development councils, migrant-related NGOs and private sectors, locally-based cooperatives for agriculture and economic development, and other local key stakeholders actively participated during the workshop and discussions.
Agusan Del Sur is one of the sites selected by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for its potential for agricultural and economic development and sustainability through the mobilization of OFW remittances and investments. Atikha initiated its PinoyWise initiative on investments, savings, and entrepreneurship in the province back in 2012. From 2015 onwards, the migration and development projects will be scaled-up with the support of IFAD, to concretely mainstream migration and development in the local development plans of the province.

The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), together with the Provincial Government of Laguna, conducted a Multistakeholders’ Orientation in the Laguna Provincial Capitol on April 7 for the project “Scaling Up Initiatives in Mobilizing Migrant Resources towards Agricultural Development.” Representatives from the provincial development councils, migrant-related NGOs and private sectors, locally-based cooperatives for agriculture and economic development, and other local key stakeholders actively participated during the workshop and discussions.
Laguna is one of the sites selected by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for being one of the top remittance sending provinces in the Philippines, which will eventually contribute to the their agricultural and economic development and sustainability.
