The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (represented by its OIC-Executive Director Czarina Medina) pledges its support to the Department of Education’s rehabilitation efforts (including school feeding and classroom rebuilding) for Yolanda-affected areas. The gathering of partners was held on Jan 22, in the Department of Education Pasig. DepEd’s acknowledgement of partners was led by Sec. Armin Luistro, USec. Mario Deriquito, and Usec. Alberto Muyot. With ULAP and DepEd is Gov. Sharee Tan of Samar, who has committed provincial government counterparts for the emergency feeding and long-term nutrition programs of the DepEd. ULAP continues its partnership with DepEd to converge national and local government efforts in rebuilding schools among other education programs.
